How Is An Arm Lift Performed?
In most cases, your upper arm lift surgery will take place in an outpatient facility unless several cosmetic surgeries are being performed at the same time. An arm lift may be added to other procedures, such as tummy tucks, mommy makeovers, and thigh lifts — as long as Dr. LaBrasca deems it safe. An upper arm lift is typically done under general anesthesia and can take a few hours to finish. The loose skin will be surgically excised starting at the elbow all the way up to the armpit. The incision will be placed as inconspicuously as possible, but it will leave a visible scar. In cases where liposuction is needed to remove stubborn pockets of fat, this can be completed as well. Once the skin is pulled taut, it will be sutured together. It's important to care for the incisions by keeping them sanitized, covered, and supported with compression garments to optimize healing.
