Fillers

Dermal fillers DuBois | Juvederm AltoonaWhen we deal with aging, we deal with many problems that we never dreamed of in our twenties and thirties. Skin sags and stretches, leaving wrinkles, fine lines, and loss of facial volume in its wake. Luckily, it doesn’t have to be that way. Dermal fillers are the weapons necessary in the fight against facial lines and wrinkles.

Juvederm

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler that is used to fill out the face. Juvederm is a homogenous gel, making it a perfect filler for deep nasiolabial folds. It is also able to absorb less water than Resylane, making it ideal when filling in lips.
There are multiple Juvederm products that are available on the market, making it important to speak to your doctor to determine which Juvederm product is right for you.

Juvederm Voluma XC

Juvederm Voluma is the latest filler in the Juvederm product family to be FDA approved.

For extra patient comfort, Juvederm Voluma contains lidocaine, which helps minimize pain and discomfort during injection. Juvederm Voluma is especially suited to fill in hollowness that may appear in the cheeks.

Juvederm Voluma is cross-linked with Vycross, which helps improve lifting capacity in the cheeks and face. Vycross also helps Juvederm Voluma avoid degradation, leading Voluma to last almost twice as long as standard dermal fillers. Voluma can last up to 2 years, making it a smart investment for those that choose not to go under the knife for surgery.

Though there is no age limit for who can receive Juvederm Voluma, it can work wonders on patients in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who aren’t considered good candidates for surgery. It is also great for patients who are 60 and older, whose skin has lost most of its elasticity.

Sculptra Aesthetic

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid collagen stimulator that has been FDA approved since 1999 that is used to fill the face like other dermal fillers. Sculptra is different because it helps stimulate your body’s own collagen production. This means that it fills in the face gradually, over time.
Sculptra can be a great option for those that don’t want it to be obvious that they’ve had work done, or just want subtle results. Sculptra lasts about 2 years, and is injected into the deep dermis of the face.

It can often be confusing to understand which dermal filler may be right for you, so it’s important to talk to a doctor and fully understand your options. To learn more and schedule a consultation, please contact Laurel Cosmetics!
